The lethal poisonings of domestic and company animals are quite frequent. These poisonings are intetional or accidental and may by due to the excessive use of pesticides. The most frequently responsible pesticide agents for these poisonings are many derivatives of carbamate and organophosphate esters, chlorinated pesticides, strychnine, cyanides, fluoroacetamide, coumarins and others. In the present paper 2421 cases of animal lethal poisonings are studied and poison responsible for death is examined. These cases took place during the years 1986-1994. The author refers to the complete toxicological analysis of poisoned animals, such as biological material, foostuffs, water and any other evidence that was sent to the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and to the Ministry of Agriculture.
