The aim of the EVSSAR is to further scientific and clinical progress in veterinary and comparative companion animal reproduction, pediatrics and neonatalogy. Even though the emphasis is on reproduction of companion animals, other species (such as laboratory, exotic, wild and zoo animal species) are also considered as species of interest to the Society.

Since 1997, a two-days congress or a one-day symposium is organised in a European country. Topics discussed during these meetings cover the whole spectrum of theriogenology from fundamental physiology to biotechnology applied to reproduction.

In 2010, the Congress will be held in Belgium (Louvain-La-Neuve) on May 14th and 15th, in close collaboration with the Unit of Veterinary Medicine of the Catholic University of Louvain.
